Assalamualaikum.
This week we had 3 class of microbiology. One of the class
with Dr. Wan. Yaayy. :D
Overall lecture for this week:
- Spontaneous mutation and induced mutation. Spontaneous mutation can occurs without mutagen.
- Missense mutation is occurs because of changes in first or second base.
- Carcinogenic can cause cancer and can be test by Ames test.
- Frame shift mutation is the insertion or deletion of one or more nucleotide pairs.
We learn about viruses with Dr. Wan. The lectured was at 8
a.m.
- Viruses have no species and the host for each virus is different and specific.
- A bacterial virus which is bacteriophage is a virus that kills the pathogenic bacteria.
- At hydrosphere there are a lot of viruses.
- The virus will replicated and release as the virions.
- Virions infect all cell types included eukaryotic and prokaryotic.
- Capsids is important during transfer of genetic materials to the host.
- Virus can be cultured in embryonated egg.
